Salisbury, Brisbane
As a nature driven haven for both families and singles, Salisbury is just 10Km south of Brisbane’s CBD and once known for its munition factories.
Since many of the original owners have moved, new buyers are renovating and rebuilding the older housing, which was built for factory workers.
There has also been a growing interest in demolishing older post-war homes as well as splitting larger allotments by small builders and homeowners.
This has seen the standard of housing in the suburb improve dramatically. There’s also been high renter demand with nearby Griffith University and the QE2 Hospital fueling this sector.
It still offers excellent value for money compared to more pricey nearby suburbs, such as Moorooka and Tarragindi. You can purchase a house in Salisbury on around 600sqm in the low to mid-$700,000 range as an entry level option.
Plus, homes that require a little cosmetic upgrade will offer excellent value for money.
In addition to plenty of eateries, a number of coffee shops, and a local craft brewery, Salisbury has every hip characteristic of an area on the rise.
