So sick and tired of this government trying to drive investors and landlords out of the property management market.
How about if they investigate renting increases they look into the reasons why the landlord is putting the rent up such as land tax increases , mortgage increases, rates increases, insurance increases the list goes on. For some landlords land tax has doubled their mortgages have doubled. Their rates have increased 20 to 30% and in some areas insurances have not opened doubled they have tripled.
An urgent repair is a separate matter altogether and there is already a pathway for the Tenant to take action against the landlord to have urgent repairs rectified. Why is this being discussed as part of reforms around rent increases?
The two matters are separate. Are they not?
The Allan Labor Government is making renting fairer by legislating a raft of rights for renters and announcing new reforms to give regulators more power to stop excessive rent increases and ensure rentals meet basic standards.
