What can you do to your home to add value?
Some of these tips you can do yourself with a little DIY experience under your belt! For those things you are not able to do, then look for a decent priced handyman or tradesman.
1. Fresh paint! Add colour that is fresh and remove the older colours.
2. Flooring! Whatever your flooring is giving it a touch up will do it wonders. If you are thinking of replacing your flooring, give hardwood flooring some thought, it is very popular among buyers.
3. Landscaping and facade! First impressions count, if your budget allows, you could give it a fresh paint, render etc. if not then simply painting the door can make a difference. Landscaping wise a little paving or stone, mulch etc can do wonders.
4. Updating your blinds and curtains! If you have older style window dressings then think about swapping them for something light and airy giving you more natural light and a fresher vibe.
5. Replacing old handles and hardware! Simply changing the handles in your kitchen/bathroom/laundry make an instant difference, as can adding new tap ware.
6. Updating your toilet and basins! Doing this can make a massive difference to your bathroom, you may find just by doing this it will update the look enough to avoid a full bathroom renovation.
7. Updating your light switches! Simple but effective, replacing light switches gives an eye pleasing visual and depending on the style you go with it can give a modern touch.
8. Update your splashback! Updating a splash back can be cost effective and really give your kitchen a new look, so much so that it may not need that full renovation you are thinking.
