📣Singleton Market Report 03/06/2026📣

Some outstanding results were recorded at HRLX today, once again highlighting the strength of the current cattle market. It was a very good yarding of weaners, with quality lines.

A notable shift in buyer activity was evident, with the majority of competition coming from NSW-based operators, particularly from the Central West and New England regions. This comes after a month of strong interstate demand.

Cows again saw gains of around approx 20cents across the board. The best cows were snapped up'd at 420c/kg a 20cent lift. with the over all average cow price rising to 362.8c/kg a 18.7 increase.

📈Market Insight📈
Cattle markets are firing! The Eastern Young Cattle Indicator (EYCI) has surged +131.93¢/kg CW over the past month due to the widespread rainfall, sitting near multi-month highs as tight supply keeps buyers competitive. Last week HRLX is contributed 2.79% to the EYCI figure, ranking as the 5th highest average price.
Nationally, feeder cattle remain strong.

Underpinning all of this is the bigger picture. Australian slaughter numbers have been running significantly above averages, reducing our national. Less cattle on the ground means more competition for what's available. Adding further fuel to the fire, the US cattle herd is sitting at its lowest level in decades, tightening global beef supply and driving international demand for Australian product.

📣Singleton Market Report 13/05/2026📣

Great to see some rain across our region, although we are still hoping for more. Overall, today’s market was very solid. The steer portion eased slightly, however this followed a very strong Weaner Sale last Friday where many quality lines of steers were sold instead of today’s sale, reaching up to 535.4c/kg for the 200–280kg category. Heifers improved on the back of strong online competition, while demand for butcher calves also remained very strong.

The cow market continued to perform well considering the seasonal conditions and the decline in overall quality. Top cows lifted by 16 cents to reach 368.0c/kg, while the overall cow average improved by 2 cents to average 282.0c/kg.
