Found this beauty yesterday at Lake MacDonald — an Original Survey Post (OSP) cut back in 1971, 55 years ago!

There’s something special about uncovering a piece of local surveying history. It didn’t make it into our survey this time, as we stopped a corner short, but that didn’t stop us from taking the short walk to find it anyway.

Because that’s what cadastral surveying is all about — curiosity, and a genuine appreciation for the history behind the marks we work with every day.
