Yesterday we had our annual work Christmas party which we celebrated on a catered yacht from Marina Mirage to way past the Broadwater - the weather was beautiful, the Secret Stealing Santa was lots of fun and a good time was had by all as seen below by some of my colleagues.
Today I intend to submit my views on the GCCC website survey page "Have Your Say" regarding the trial closure of The Surfers Paradise Esplanade that has been in place for the past 3 months - a letter/flyer arrived recently in my letterbox as a resident of the Isle of Capri community and also to local businesses in and around Surfers asking for ideas and feedback - if you received one as well, and feel strongly about this trial, please do likewise to let the GCCC know your opinion on the impact this closure has had on your daily life or business.
Keep well and safe over the Festive Season and into the New Year.

It's been a bit cooler this week and the rain is such a welcome sight - it's amazing how quickly the grass loses its half dead look and is lush green again, seemingly overnight, which then needs a mow post-haste...ah, the cycle of life.
Schoolies starts on the 22nd November and preparations are already underway in the Surfers precinct; apparently the GCCC have partially reversed the parking times along sections of the GC where the times were this year changed to 7am-7pm (certainly apparent along the Esplanade in Surfers) however it's a 3 month wait I read before they go back to 9am - 7pm. so the locals will be happier with that result!

It's been a while since my last post - work has been busy with listings/sales and lots of events around Surfers Paradise, including recent road closures for GC 500 and a while back the area between the Surfers Paradise SLSC & Soul building...the latter has been a huge problem to local traffic in Surfers since, so much so that today they have in their wisdom reversed the traffic flow in Elkhorn Ave back to where it has been for decades...once again, it's interesting to watch from my 1st floor office - many cars still turn into this street and nearly have a head on with oncoming traffic at the lights as the signage is average to say the least...I've tried myself to have it improved and they did add 2 more small signs around the lights but not much improvement was detected. What a strange week of weather we've had on the GC and its now a delight to see some rain coming our way although I hope it stays dry at least for tonight as there are many Halloween displays on show for kids and adults to enjoy.
Have fun over the weekend - I'm off to a Capri fashion parade on Sunday which I'm looking forward to!

Walking into the office today you would think it was springtime, the way people are dressed strolling, cycling, running (post the GC Marathon last weekend) along the esplanade - I'm all rugged up in 3 layers plus a scarf! I can only surmise that these sc****ly clothed people must be from down south where my husband is visiting at the moment and its cold there, so I'm told & not so much for them on the GC...I sold that Bundall property, mentioned last time, within 5 days of listing and after all buyer conditions are satisfied it will be celebrations all round; love this pic below I took earlier in the week - clear skies, a surfer and a boat just along from our office location...it's a great view on a daily basis!
I'm off to see a "Cinderella" ballet production on Sunday afternoon 🩰, looking forward to that event; Wimbledon concludes this weekend however there is still plenty of football around to watch and of course the Tour de France is amazing TV viewing in such beautiful surroundings.

Today it's a beautiful day on the GC and let's hope for a lovely weekend for all, especially the families on school holidays - I have a new house listing in Bundall to sell and open homes to conduct so weather is a problem when it's raining before during and after the allotted time...I really dislike getting drenched!
Anyway, there is certainly a lot of sport to watch if you are indoors so enjoy!

It's a busy time right now in Surfers Paradise with many families enjoying the start of school holidays in Qld with several other states as well, and more to join in at the end of this week...thankfully the beaches have been recovering well from the storms, naturally and with mechanical assistance (see pics blow)- in fact the other night the dredge was working off Northcliff SLSC and was lit up like a cruise ship!
It has also cooled down this week and the humidity is much less, a gorgeous time of year now leading into winter.
Hope it's also fine where you are!

It's party season - school holidays start today, or earlier for some lucky children. I've nearly finished my shopping and am trying to keep away from the shops until I need last minute food items. We had a great day out this week on a Broadwater cruise for our office party, including Stealing Santa which is always fun - see pic attached where I'm hiding up the back! I take this opportunity to wish my readers the very best for Christmas and the New Year - may you enjoy the holiday break and special time with family and friends. It's the end of Schoolie's celebrations for 2024 today (Qld/NSW in the main) for 2024 and Christmas looms ever closer...one of my work colleagues is celebrating a very big birthday tomorrow and most of us in the office are attending her party in the afternoon; I have attached a pic of the happiest moment in a real estate Agents working day - putting up a SOLD sign!

During the week I've had a few appointments at my "For Sale" listing near HOTA - I took the opportunity to take a walk around Evandale Lake (less then 5 minutes stroll from this property), which I haven't done for ages...it was beautiful and quiet - highly recommend you do the same and of course, the weekly Sunday markets are there as well (not so quiet.)

September is just rushing past - the weather has been superb for days on end although I must say I'm appreciating the still cooler mornings and evenings...Footy finals are on in earnest and all the exciting 2024 Paris Olympic games have come to an end sadly😞
Qld school holidays are here once more and it's been busy in Surfers Paradise judging by the traffic; I've had another bout of Covid - 2 years since the last - but a quick 5 day turn around has seen me back in the office today, eager to work!
I'm hoping to meet many new buyers at my new listing, 2 Inga Ave Surfers Paradise (near HOTA) at open homes this weekend with a sale to follow...

The surf is pretty flat today as I look out of my office window, which will probably suit many competitors from overseas at the Lifesaving World Championships currently being held at Kurrawa Beach, Broadbeach and the still water events at the GC Aquatic Centre in Southport, over the next few weeks. I'm sure they are enjoying the warmer conditions as you hear reported on any media weather station at the moment - across the country, records are being broken for these much warmer days at the end of winter...let's hope summer doesn't have the same results, as bushfires are a huge worry for the upcoming season.
Surfers Paradise is little quieter now, after all the activity from the Pacific Air Show last week however that will change again with the next scheduled school holidays.
Footy finals are looming in many codes - exciting times ahead for those enthusiasts - for me, I'm looking forward to some cricket!
On the office front, our French admin colleague has returned from Paris, Italy & Spain where she visited family etc. whilst another staff member leaves for Greece this weekend...happy travels!

If you live locally and didn't attend the Pacific Air Show over the weekend, no doubt you heard it! Myself, husband and sons played a round of golf on Saturday at Parkwood and could see the planes occasionally from there - if the wind blew the right way, heard them too. The zoned fly path area was larger this year, more parking was restricted on the Esplanade and for longer periods before and after the weekend, however none of that mattered when such an exciting event was on show...the weather was superb, especially as the lead up was a very worrying, wet few days for the organisers - apparently the whole business area benefitted as well so it was a win-win again for the GC. We had great viewing from our office boardroom and other desk windows which was fantastic...yesterday my kind Principal and staff also had flowers and cake for my birthday on Sunday.
All in all, a great weekend was had!
