“WHAT ABOUT MOVING OR REACTIVE GROUND?”

This came up from someone in the Wimmera, and it’s a really good question.

Ground conditions play a big part in how any post and rail fencing performs over time. Reactive soil being a major one.

In our experience, the main thing you can do with post and rail fencing and reactive soil is to go deeper with your posts and use concrete. That's why our fence posts are over 2.5m long! Longer posts = deeper holes which means we're more likely to keep a straight fence even when the top layer of soil moves between the seasons.
