The City of Canterbury Bankstown completed their Local Strategic Planning Statement (known as Connective City 2036) in 2019 and recognised Campsie as one of the city’s key Strategic Centres and have commenced the process.

The Campsie manages growth and change to improve the quality of development in the centre and creates a place that the community can be proud of.

INDUSTRY NEWS | MASTER PLANNING FOR BANKSTOWN CITY CENTRE

Bankstown is entering an exciting phase of transformation.

In 2019, the City of Canterbury Bankstown completed their Local Strategic Planning Statement (known as Connective City 2036). They recognised Bankstown as one of the city’s key Strategic Centres and have commenced the Master Planning process.

Partly funded by the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment, the Master Plan will improve the quality and sustainability of the city centre.

High-rises along a new metro line due to open in 2024, a 24-hour commercial hubs by 2036, a new $350-million 22-storey Western Sydney University campus, a proposed $1.3-billion Lidcombe-Bankstown Hospital are among plans.

The city is expected to grow to 500,000 residents and 155,000 workers by 2036. The Master Plan is set to generate opportunities of a diversity of jobs, affordable homes, quick access to CBD, sustainable and well-designed buildings, new social infrastructure and businesses.
