Big 4 banks cuts fixed rates by 0.3%. We are in the right direction of rate falls.

With Sydney’s clearance rates now in the 80% range, it appears the property market is not being influenced by interest rate rises.

However, what is moving Sydney property prices on an upward trajectory is a chronic lack of supply, and significant demand.

I believe this trend will continue, not only due to supply and demand, but also due to factors such as the incoming stamp duty changes from July 1st, the removal of stamp duty surcharges for citizens of India, New Zealand and South Africa (to name a few) and the top end of the market maintaining its momentum from local, as well as an increasing number of wealthy foreign buyers.
