📅🏡 Planning to end your lease agreement?
The notice period you need to give depends on the type of tenancy agreement you are currently on.
Here’s a simple guide:
✅ Fixed-term lease
You are required to give at least 14 days’ notice before your lease expires.
✅ Periodic or month-to-month lease
You will need to give at least 21 days’ notice.
When providing formal notice to your property manager, it must be in writing and include the date you intend to return vacant possession of the property.
🔑 What does vacant possession mean?
Vacant possession is the date when:
• The property has been fully vacated
• Cleaning has been completed
• The keys are returned
• The property is ready to be handed back
This date is important because it confirms when your tenancy officially ends and allows the property manager to organise the final inspection and begin the bond return process.
