AUCTION 'V' PRIVATE TREATY Campaign during Covid-19 restrictions.

Some agents are excited to be promoting virtual auctions. I get it. It's different, trendy and a mechanism to run an auction campaign during covid-19 restrictions. One agent told me recently 'it will be good to see how it goes', while another said 'I'm keen to give it a try'.

These are simply not strong enough reasons to make such a decision.

These are NOT necesarily the reasons to go to auction. The agent should not decide. The seller should make an informed decision including solid advice from the agent. The influence of the agent should be to optimise the interests of the seller and the property.

Auction clearance rates are alarmingly low - RED FLAG!

Is this method of purchasing giving comfort to buyers?

Would the property better suit a private treaty campaign?

Sellers must ask themselves these simple question and much more!

Agents love auctions and push push push them, unfortunately for some it's more self serving. It's simpler, it's easier, it all comes together in a 'package'. Sure there is a time and place and property that suits auction. Is it yours and is it now????
