π¨ We thought we were capturing an exhibition.
Turns out⦠we were also helping preserve it.
One of our WalkThrus for the Art Gallery of New South Wales Brett Whiteley Studio ended up having a pretty unexpected second life. π
When the team needed to recreate an exhibition, they were able to go back into the WalkThru and explore the space exactly as it had been captured.
πΆ Walk back through the exhibition
πΌοΈ See where works had been positioned
π Reference objects and their surroundings
π Revisit how the whole space came together
Basically, instead of relying on a folder full of photos, they could step back inside the exhibition.
And THAT is where virtual tours start getting really interesting for museums and galleries. π
They're not just marketing.
They can become a digital record of a real place, at a real moment in time β something that can be explored, shared, studied, referencedβ¦ and in this case, even used to help recreate an exhibition.
Pretty bloody cool use of a WalkThru, if you ask us. ππ¨
And it opens up a much bigger conversation about how museums and galleries can digitally preserve exhibitions long after the physical space has changed.
π· Capture it once.
πΆ Revisit it whenever you need it.
π Open it to anyone, anywhere.
We Make Virtual A Reality. π·πΆββοΈπ£
