**35 years. Four walls. Millions of meals. โค๏ธ**
After 35 years of feeding Balgowlah and beyond, Manji and Daljit are closing the doors of their much-loved Indian restaurant. Sunday is their last day of trading.
Letโs do the maths ๐งฎ
70 seats ร lunch and dinner = 140 meals a day
ร 365 days = 51,100 meals a year
ร 35 years = **1,788,500 meals** ๐คฏ
Even at half full, thatโs nearly 900,000 meals. If every guest had one naan, the stack would be more than 17km high. Thatโs two Mount Everests of naan! ๐๏ธ
Butter chicken, palak spinach, chicken tikka masala and those famous onion bhajis ๐ And if you asked for something special, the answer was always yes: โI never say no.โ
Theyโve fed three and four generations. Babies grew up here and now bring their own kids. Customers became family. ๐ฅน
Their four kids helped out even after finishing uni, and on busy Saturday nights they got a share of the takings. That meant they always had cash for nights out with friends ๐
Iโve been honoured to help them sell the business, and a new food venue is coming, so these four walls will keep on working ๐
Manji and Daljit, congratulations. Youโve smashed it. We wish you a healthy, happy retirement ๐
