Project Highlight | Kiama Station

Full painting and high-risk work at the Kiama Station footbridge and lift tower. Tight access, live rail, multiple elevated work platforms, and the kind of staging that leaves zero room for shortcuts.

Some jobs look simple from the ground. Then you get on site and realise it is a whole different story.

As always, safety shaped every step. Our protection officer took control of the track so the team could work with confidence. That is safety in action, and skilled people doing what they do best.

A few highlights from the job:
→ Careful staging so the public could move through safely
→ Rail-compliant crews working in sync across both towers
→ A finish that lifts the look and feel of the whole station

The result is a cleaner, sharper and longer lasting structure for the Kiama community, and a solid reminder of what CBM delivers across the rail network week after week. Trade Partners and Project Teams working as one.

Every year, Movember rolls around and someone in the crew grows a moustache that looks like it time-travelled straight out of 1978.

We tease each other and have a laugh.
But there’s a reason we show up for it.
Because behind the fun is something serious.

Too many men stay quiet when they’re struggling.
Too many keep going until they hit a wall.

Movember gives us the opportunity to check in with each other, start the conversation, and remind the people around us that health and wellbeing come first.

We remember their courage, the families who waited, and the lives forever changed by their service. May we never forget the cost, and may we always carry their legacy with pride and gratitude.
