🥩 This week I sat down with Tim, the head butcher at Toowong Village Meats, to chat about what has made this local favourite such a fixture in the community for decades. Located in the heart of Toowong Village, the team has built a reputation for quality produce, expert knowledge and genuine customer service that keeps generations of locals coming back.
🔪 What we covered:
• Why Toowong Village Meats has become a true local institution
• The importance of quality products and personalised service
• The role community plays in the business’s success
• The story behind Bowling for Millie
• How local businesses can make a real difference beyond their shopfronts
💜 One of the most inspiring parts of our conversation was hearing about Bowling for Millie, the annual fundraiser created by Tim and his family to support Epilepsy Queensland. Inspired by his daughter Millie’s journey with epilepsy, the event has grown into a major community fundraiser, bringing together local businesses, families and residents for a day of bowls, raffles, auctions and fundraising. Recent events have raised more than $15,000 to support Queensland families living with epilepsy.
A huge thank you to Tim for sharing his story and for everything he and the team do for the local community. If you haven’t visited Toowong Village Meats yet, this interview is a great reminder of why supporting local businesses matters.
