Here in Townsville the Liberal National Party (LNP) retained their federal seat, as well as the swing to the LNP for local elections back in 2024 strengthening the LNP position further in Townsville.

For investors, landlords, renters and homeowners alike, this political balance of power could have ripple effects for Townsville’s real estate, but what might we expect?

In its second meeting of the year, the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) has kept the cash rate on hold at 4.10%.

Perhaps a number of uncertainties, such as the US imposing tariffs and the looming federal election, has influenced this month’s cash rate decision.

The next meeting will be held on May 6th.
