2022 WHALE SEASON HAS BEGUN!

It was just reported that yesterday our first confirmed SRW was sighted in Encounter Bay waters.

THURSDAY 19TH MAY
09.30 🐳 SRW Newland Head. Sighted from boat ~2km out to sea. Possible juvenile SRW (appeared to be smaller).

UPDATE: It's confirmed! Our first Southern Right Whale of the 2021 season.

Just in time for , Victor Harbor's official whale season opening event, our fantastic volunteer whale spotters this morning confirmed a whale resting off ours waters.

First seen at 8am between Oliver's Reef and Granite Island our spotters watched what they believed to be a Southern Right Whale making its way to approximately 400 metres from Seal Island.

🤞 Fingers crossed that its our first Southern Right Whale of the 2021 season.
