This afternoon we had the privilege of attending a luncheon supporting the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal – the Salvos’ largest annual fundraiser.
We were honoured to attend on behalf of Brent Illingworth, whose ongoing generosity and support of the Red Shield Appeal helped make today’s event possible. While Brent was unable to attend, we were grateful for the opportunity to represent him and our team.
We were incredibly fortunate to hear from Dr Dinesh Palipana OAM, whose story of resilience, determination and gratitude was truly inspiring. As the first person with a spinal cord injury and only the second person with quadriplegia to graduate as a doctor in Australia, Dinesh’s achievements are remarkable, but it was his positivity and appreciation for life that left the greatest impression.
The Salvation Army provides support to so many people in our community every single day, and it was wonderful to hear firsthand about the impact they make. Thank you to the local Salvos team for hosting such a meaningful event and to all the speakers who shared their stories with such honesty and passion.
A heartfelt afternoon for a truly incredible cause. Thank you for having us. ❤️
