Last night, Zoe Hafenscher made history by becoming the first-ever national winner of the Vocational Surveying Student of the Year Award, presented by Surveyors Australia.

This is an enormously well‑deserved accolade. Zoe’s achievement reflects years of dedication — balancing study, hands‑on work, and the early stages of forging a career in the surveying profession. Her commitment, professionalism, and passion for learning are qualities we are incredibly proud to see represented on a national stage.

Beyond being a personal milestone for Zoe, this award also sends a powerful message to our industry: vocational education plays a critical role in building the future of surveying. Vocational students bring practical expertise, fresh perspectives, and a strong work ethic — and Zoe’s success is a clear example of the talent coming through this pathway.

At CK Maloney Surveying, we are passionate about supporting vocational training and nurturing emerging professionals. Seeing one of our own recognised at a national level reinforces why investing in people, mentoring, and real‑world learning matters — not just for our company, but for the long‑term strength and sustainability of the surveying profession.
Zoe, we couldn’t be prouder of you.

Congratulations on this exceptional achievement — we can’t wait to see where your career takes you next.

What a wonderful way to wrap up the year! ✨
We loved bringing our team, partners, and families together to celebrate the festive season and reflect on all the incredible achievements of 2025. It was also a fantastic opportunity to showcase our new and amazing office space that has been in the works throughout the year!

This season reminds us not only of what we’ve accomplished but also of how much we have to be grateful for. Our team and their families generously donated to the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal , and our very own festive elves, Zoe and Ali delivered the gifts this afternoon.

On behalf of everyone at CK Maloney Surveying , we wish you a joyful Christmas and a fantastic New Year—however you choose to celebrate.

Here’s to an even bigger and better 2026! 🎉

Task: Setout Grids on the panel faces of level 2

Obstacle: The new design feature of the facility is 'Z' purlin timber flooring and steel columns/ frame work.

Obstacle Factors to consider: We cannot setup on timber floorings with a conventional tripod as it will not be accurate enough with the flex and movement. The steel columns are finished exposed surfaces so we could not drill or pe*****te. The surrounding panels are also finished surface and not being painted so we could not drill in a bracket to the face.

Solution: The bracket pictured was originally made so we could drill into a core and setup of a traditional deck. To overcome the securing of the bracket to the columns we used the oversized G claps and a "she's not going nowhere test" partnered with an all else fails cam buckle strap.

Result: An out of the box & unconventional solution to get the job done and a happy client with grids on level 2

We definitely said October is busy but CK Maloney Surveying were honoured to be part of something truly special today. Craig Maloney and Kelly Maloney had the privilege of attending the 25th Relay For Life West Coast forCancer Council Western Australia opening ceremony in City of Joondalup - Government.

After helping with the setup this week, it was incredible to see it all come together—thanks to the tireless efforts of organizers, volunteers, sponsors, and participants.

The opening ceremony was moving and heartfelt, paying tribute to those we've lost, celebrating survivors, and standing in solidarity with those currently battling cancer. We were honoured to join the first lap and share morning tea with dignitaries and community champions who selflessly give back.

💜 Good luck to all the teams lapping for the next 24 hours! If you’d like to support this amazing cause, donations are still open. Help Relay for Life reach their 2025 goal and beyond:

October is buzzing social time for the surveying industry!

Last night, CK Maloney Surveying’s Craig and Lucas joined students and fellow surveying professionals at the Curtin University WA Spatial Science Student Association annual sundowner.

This event was a fantastic opportunity for enrolled and graduating students to unwind, celebrate another year of study, and connect with industry partners to explore future pathways in surveying and spatial sciences.

A huge thank you to Ella, the outgoing president, and her dedicated team for organizing such a memorable evening!

We were even lucky enough to win a door prize!

CK Maloney Surveying is proud to support Relay For Life West Coast

In preparation for this weekend, we have had the privilege of marking out 118 bays for this incredible event — helping set the stage for a powerful community effort in the fight against cancer.

Our very own Kelvin is out in the sunshine with his trusty sidekick Tyker Robot “Harry Plotter”, making sure everything is mapped out to perfection to get the event set up.

Wishing all participants a safe and inspiring relay. Let’s walk together for hope, remembrance, and a cancer-free future.
