Media Release: Consultation opens Tuesday 10th February 2026 for busy western Toowoomba intersection upgrade:

• The Crisafulli Government is taking action to improve safety and efficiency at a critical Darling Downs intersection, following a decade of decline under the former Labor government.
• This upgrade will support jobs, freight and agriculture, and deliver value for money for taxpayers.
• The Crisafulli Government is delivering a plan for Queensland’s future.

The community is invited to have their say on plans to upgrade the intersection of Toowoomba-Cecil Plains Road, Deuble Road and Heinemann Road, a vital link between Toowoomba City, Wellcamp Airport and surrounding industrial and agricultural areas.

With traffic volumes – including heavy vehicles for freight and agriculture – continuing to grow, the upgrade will improve safety and capacity to meet future transport needs.

Member for Condamine Pat Weir said the Crisafulli Government is committed to delivering safer, more efficient roads that support regional growth.
“This intersection is a critical connection for the Darling Downs, and we want to make sure it’s ready for the future,” Mr Weir said.
“By working with Toowoomba Regional Council and listening to locals, we’ll continue working to deliver an upgrade that supports economic development and keeps people safe.
“Your input matters. We want to hear from residents, businesses and road users about what’s needed to make this intersection work better for everyone.”
