🌟 2024 Recap: A Busy Year at Banksia Grove! 🌟
Wow, what a year it’s been here at Banksia Grove! As we approach the holiday season, it’s the perfect time to reflect on all the amazing moments we've shared together. Here’s a quick look back at the year:
Banksia Statistics for 2024:
• 15 pre-loved home sales
• We’ve welcomed 19 new residents
• We’ve said goodbye to 19 residents
• Sadly, 8 residents have passed away
This year also saw changes in our Residents Committee, with past president Neil resigning, and some new faces stepping in.
Here’s a look at some of the highlights from our community events:
• January: The Committee hosted a complimentary Residents BBQ for Australia Day!
• February: We celebrated Valentine’s Day and launched the Resident of the Month in our Monthly Gazette!
• March: Easter Raffle hosted by Bingo
• April: We had an Anzac Day Memorial service and Peter Stephanson performed at a live music night!
• May: Celebrated the beautiful wedding of John and Liz Fyfe under the Village Cabana, plus another live music night featuring Norm Bakker!
• June: Hosted the Biggest Morning Tea and the Olympic Games in Paris began!
• July: We had a wonderful Christmas in July celebration, and our yearly Trash n’ Treasure event was a success!
• September: We welcomed warmer weather, celebrated Father’s Day and Katie’s 21st birthday, with Emile and Norm Bakker performing at live music nights!
• October: Clocks went backwards, flowers bloomed around the village!
• November: We observed a minute’s silence for Remembrance Day and celebrated the Melbourne Cup!
• December: Kicking off the festive season with the Christmas party, Christmas hamper raffles, and looking forward to the Christmas ham raffles and two Christmas lights competitions!
With all the events, changes, and celebrations, we want to take a moment to wish all past, present, and incoming residents a safe and happy Christmas filled with love and laughter! 🎄✨
