In a significant milestone for Gold Coast real estate, we've surpassed the $1 million median mark for the first time. This achievement places us in the esteemed company of areas boasting seven-figure medians, a prestigious club indeed.

According to the latest findings from the Domain House Price Report (December 2023), we've witnessed an impressive 8.4% increase in median house prices over the past year, propelling us into this elite category.

Our new median price stands at $1,030,000, marking a notable quarterly surge of 4.6%. Just a year ago, in December 2022, it was at $950,000, illustrating the rapid growth our market has experienced.

Meanwhile, the unit median remains steady at $705,000 from quarter to quarter, yet it has seen a remarkable 10.2% rise over the past year, climbing from $640,000.

This achievement solidifies the Gold Coast as only the second Queensland city to achieve such a milestone, following in the footsteps of the Sunshine Coast, which reached a $1 million median in 2022, albeit slipping slightly below since then.
