UPDATE: The Bureau of Meteorology has advised that the threat of heavy rainfall has passed. Our sandbag stations will stay open until Monday as a great chance to stock up and get prepared for severe weather season.

Sandbags can help slow water from entering your home and protect drains from storm surges. While they won’t stop floodwaters entirely, correctly filled and placed bags can reduce the amount of water that reaches your property. 🏠

The State Emergency Service (SES) may be able to assist residents who are physically unable to collect sandbags due to age, illness, or other limitations. Call 132 500 if you need support. 📞

If you’re visiting a Council sandbag station, please bring your own shovel as you will need to fill your own bags.

Take only what you need, lend a hand to your neighbours, and stay calm - we'll bring new supply when available so everyone can get what they need. 🏠⛈️

Power outages during storms can cause water outages and with wet weather forecast for the next few days, now is the time to store drinking water - just in case you lose it! 🌧

Store 10 litres of water per person in a container with a lid (jerry cans are perfect) so you have enough to wash, bathe and drink.
