Settlement day has a way of sneaking up on you. Here's what to have sorted in the week leading up to it:

✅ Confirm your settlement date and time with your conveyancer
✅ Book your final inspection of the property
✅ Arrange building and contents insurance from settlement date
✅ Notify utilities - electricity, gas, internet - of your move-in date
✅ Organise mail redirection
✅ Confirm your bank has funds ready for settlement
✅ Know where the keys are being collected from

The more you prepare ahead of time, the smoother the day feels.

Before you sign anything - pause and ask yourself these three questions:

1️⃣ Do I understand every condition in this contract?
2️⃣ Have the inclusions (what stays with the property) been clearly listed?
3️⃣ Does the settlement date actually work for my situation?
