Do you know where to find the plumbing device that protects your home from sewage overflow?

Itโ€™s called an overflow relief gully (ORG) and every home should have one outside.
If your ORG is covered or blocked, it canโ€™t do its job, which can lead to sewage overflowing inside your home if a pipe is blocked.

๐—–๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐—ธ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ ๐—ข๐—ฅ๐—š ๐˜๐—ผ๐—ฑ๐—ฎ๐˜†. ๐—œ๐˜โ€™๐˜€ ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐˜€๐˜†.

1๏ธโƒฃ Find your ORG โ€“ Look outside for a drain-type fitting with a grate made of plastic or metal alloy near your outside laundry or bathroom wall, or in your yard.

2๏ธโƒฃ Remove anything on top of the ORG. Plants, buckets or objects on top of an ORG can block sewage, which means any overflow will end up inside the house.

3๏ธโƒฃ Check the grate isnโ€™t jammed shut or stuck. The grate needs to be loose so that it can pop off easily in case of a blockage.
