Planned Burn at Plunkett Conservation – Saturday 6 June

A planned hazard reduction burn will be undertaken by QPWS at Plunkett Conservation Park this Saturday. Please see the map below for the designated burn area.

You may notice smoke in and around the community during this time. These controlled burns are an important part of reducing fire risk and maintaining a healthy natural environment.

We'll be sharing dinner, the kids will have some activities to keep them busy, and we'll spend some time connecting and chatting about what's happening in our community.

This time we'll be exploring:
• What local services and opportunities we need in our community
• Physical health – what's working, what's missing, and what we'd like to see more of

There's no pressure, no presentations, and no need to have all the answers. Just a chance to meet others, share your thoughts, hear different perspectives, and be part of the conversation.

The theme for National Reconciliation Week 2026 is All In, a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day.​

All In makes clear that reconciliation is not a spectator sport and that all of us must step away from the sidelines and take action to make change.​

At Stockland, we continue to walk this path by listening, learning, and acting. From walking on Country with Traditional Owners to embedding cultural knowledge into our projects, we are committed to building respectful relationships with First Nations communities.​

As a proud reconciliation organisation, we imagine a future where all Australians are united by respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and their Elders. A future where we design with and for Country, foster economic participation, and celebrate culture in everything we do.​

🏗️ New jobs and local investment coming to Yarrabilba

Construction is now underway on a new Neumann Steel facility at the Yarrabilba Business Park, a milestone that supports local jobs, strengthens the construction supply chain and helps Yarrabilba continue to grow.

The new facility is expected to create 20–25 jobs, with around half of roles recruited locally, and will support residential and commercial construction projects across Southeast Queensland.
