“Still round the corner there may wait, a new road or a secret gate.”

We’re in! After 26 weeks in a Lavendale cottage while we renovated, we can finally start settling into our new home.

It feels significant to mark this moment of change — what’s brought us here and the hope of what’s to come.

Very grateful today to these four generations in our family for helping us get here.

We had a small window between group retreats and a rather ambitious plan!

It’s been all hands on deck to give our Community Room a makeover. It feels so beautifully fresh—what a difference a few days and a lot of paint can make.

How am I so blessed? My friend Meghan made us dinner from the spinach harvest yesterday. This was hands down the best risotto I have ever tasted!

By the way, Meghan does the catering for events at Lavendale. ☺️

If you pop into Meghan’s café, bellissimoyork be sure to try their delicious Spinach and Ricotta Cannelloni —you’ll also be sampling some fresh produce from Lavendale’s gardens 🪴

We had a gorgeous morning for picking herbs and vegetables and planning what to plant next.

One of my favourite parts of our days here is hearing people tell us how much they love the changes we’ve made.

It’s not a pride thing. We just genuinely put so much thought and love into the spaces we’re creating for you.

We think about how comfortable we hope you’ll be. How rested we hope you’ll feel. How much you might enjoy the beauty from every viewpoint.

There’s still much more planned, so follow along for the little updates as we go.

Hearing that you’re enjoying Lavendale along the way brings us so much joy.

Thank you for noticing, and for taking the time to tell us.

Every great adventure requires a good stick. 😂

I’ve been wondering why it feels so meaningful to see children visiting Lavendale discover where food comes from.

Perhaps it’s grounded in connection—to the land, to nature, and to the understanding that we’re all part of a living ecosystem. It’s an idea that becomes easier to grasp when children experience it for themselves.

This reflects our hope for Lavendale—to be a soft place to land, where you can slow down and reconnect amongst nature.

Come find a little space to grow. 🌱🥕

What happened to screen time?

Somewhere between building Lego on the verandah, playing a game and heading off to explore, the kids forgot to ask for it. It’s something we’ve noticed that parents tell us often about their stay at Lavendale.
