Your Short Walk Guide to Corinna.
We’ve picked a few of our favourite short walks, from boardwalks under ancient Huon pine to rainforest trails and riverside loops where wildlife wanders.
Whyte River Track:
This 3km loop traces the Pieman River to where the Whyte River meets it, known for its mirror-like water and abundant wildlife. Keep an eye out for wallabies, pademelons, birdlife and even platypus, especially at dawn or dusk.
Huon Pine Walk:
One of Tasmania’s Top 50 Short Walks, this 300m boardwalk follows the Pieman River through myrtle beech rainforest. An ancient Huon pine leans over the river, with dense rainforest lining the banks.
Savage River Walk:
Where the Huon Pine Walk ends, this 2.5km trek begins. Winding through towering myrtle beech and Huon pine to the site of the SS Croydon wreck.
These walks are just a small taste of what’s waiting… there are plenty more tracks here in the heart of the Tarkine, each with its own story to tell.
