বর্তমান লোডশেডিংয়ের কারণ:-
=======================
দেশের পূর্বাঞ্চলের উৎপাদিত বিদ্যুত দক্ষিণ পশ্চিমাঞ্চল ও উত্তরাঞ্চলে সঞ্চালনের জন্য ২৩০ কেভি দুটি লাইন আছে যার প্রথমটি ঘোড়াশাল থেকে আরিচা হয়ে ঈশ্বরদী পর্যন্ত এবং দ্বিতীয়টি কুমিল্লার আশুগঞ্জ থেকে যমুনা ব্রীজ হয়ে সিরাজগঞ্জ পর্যন্ত। গত ১মে তারিখের টর্নেডোতে টাওয়ার ভেঙে আশুগঞ্জ সিরাজগঞ্জ লাইনটি বন্ধ হয়ে যায় (ছবি)। ফলে ঘোড়াশাল ঈশ্বরদী লাইন দিয়ে অতিরিক্ত লোড চাপানোর কারণে ওভার লোডে গ্রীড বিপর্যয়ে উত্তর ও দক্ষিণাঞ্চেলর ৩৮ জেলায় বিদ্যুত বন্ধ হয়ে যায়। তাই নিরাপত্তার কারণে বেশি বিদ্যুত আনা সম্ভব হচ্ছে না। আসলে উত্তর ও দক্ষিনাঞ্চেলের বিদ্যুত কেন্দ্র গুলো তেল দিয়ে চলে তাই উৎপাদন খরচ বেশি আর পূর্বাঞ্চলের গুলো গ্যাস দিয়ে চলে এবং উৎপাদন খরচ কম। তাই ঐ পারে বেশি বিদ্যুত উৎপাদন হয়। দেশে পর্যাপ্ত বিদ্যুত উৎপাদন হচ্ছে কিন্তু টাওয়ার ভাঙার কারণেই এখন দেশের পূর্বাঞ্চলে অতিরিক্ত মাত্রায় লোডশেড হচ্ছে। টাওয়ার মেরামতি কাজ চলছে যা ৩ থেকে ৪ মাস সময় লাগতে পারে।
