📢 Atenor secures planning consent for sustainable retrofit in London!

✔️ We are thrilled to announce that planning consent for our first project in the UK has been granted: the deep retrofit of Fleet House near Blackfriars Station in the City of London to create a best-in-class sustainable workspace

🍃Designed by global architecture practice HOK, the project will see more than two-thirds of the existing structure retained, thereby ensuring the retention of the existing embodied carbon and reducing the project’s environmental impact. The new sustainable office building, which is being designed to achieve a minimum of BREEAM Excellent (with BREEAM Outstanding subject to fit-out), will provide around 77,500 sq ft (7,200 sq m) of high-quality office space over eight storeys

📅On 31 January 2023, the City of London’s planning sub-committee unanimously resolved to grant the scheme planning permission, following the planning officer’s recommendation for approval

Eoin Conroy, Country Director of Atenor UK said, "This is a major milestone for Atenor in the UK and highlights our ambition and focus on creating beautiful places founded on sustainability and wellbeing. 72% of the building’s existing structure will be retained, emphasizing our belief that the adoption of sustainable practices at the design and construction phases is both the right thing to do and will make this building more appealing to future occupiers. 📢 New European Commission Conference Centre - the sooner, the better

🏦Launched nearly 10 years ago, the Realex project has undergone several metamorphoses over its lengthy gestation period to host what will become the European Commission Conference Centre; the land in question requires a demolition permit

📅In November 2021, Atenor filed a new, amended planning permit application, reducing the
height of the 4-storey office tower to 114 metres and meeting all other conditions imposed. This planning permit, applied for at the end of 2021, was rejected by the delegated official in January 2022

New applications for planning and environmental permits for a "no-tower" project were filed on 25 April 2022 and are currently being examined. A recent impact study began on 3 August 2022

📝To reduce the overall duration, Atenor has simultaneously filed an application for a demolition permit., which will be discussed at the consultation committee on 1 February 2023. The demolition of the current obsolete office building that is vacant since 201 is essential for any high-quality project to be completed

📢 We are thrilled to announce that Atenor has signed a forward funding sale agreement with the Brussels Region to buy 171 apartments at City Dox

🏡Lot 5 is a state-of-the-art multifamily apartment block with 171 apartments, 2,700 sqm of productive activities and 132 parking units, spread over 3 interconnected buildings with a lettable surface of ca. 18,500 sqm.

🍃The project, to be delivered beginning 2025, is already under construction. It is best-in-class as it offers a future-proof investment with the latest sustainable features, such as solar panels, heat pumps, and is taxonomy aligned.
