O programa vai selecionar e capacitar 15 negócios de impacto no RS e contará com workshops, consultorias individuais e apoio à distância, ajudando os empreendedores a potencializar seus modelos de receita, crescimento e impacto.

Dear friends! Look who was featured as an "initiative for the good" on the Brazilian newspaper "Gazette of Commerce/Jornal do Comércio"?
The piece covers the importance of social and circular economy in today's challenging industrial models of business. Together with other projects that are making the difference while also assuring financial sustainability, Green was features as a successful case. The news highlights how bioethanol can be used for clean cooking without generating toxic smoke as well as the importance it stands for strengthening rural development.

"Nigeria is among the biggest producers of cassava in the world. However, it is a production chain completely underrated. Many times the producer stops harvesting because he or she knows there will be no market for its production. With Green's projects, this surplus cassava has a new use and new source of income.", said Bruno Mallmann in an exclusive interview to the newspaper.

Green was selected to participate in the training program promoted by Apex-Brasil in partnership with the GVces. The project called "Innovation and Sustainability in Global Value Chains" was launched for the first time in 2013. Its main goal is to help Brazilian companies to incorporate values of sustainability as a strategic asset in their business model and increase their presence in international markets.

The first mentoring session took place this week. During two days of training, the Green team joined a series of activities and laerned about successful business cases that incorporated positive social and environmental impacts. Yesterday we had the pleasure of receiving the visit of a group of business representatives from Ethiopia. Mr. Girma Hailu, from Kaytex Machinery and Motors, and his partner Mr. Kaleab Firdu arrived in Brazil last week. During their short , yet extremely fruitful stay they were able to check the equipments used to manufacture an EMD, get to know the process of building up distillation columns and also learn a bit about the steps for producing bioethanol.

Let's start this week with some very good news, Green Fellows!
We have just received the information that last friday, April 22nd, Green Social bioethanol was accepted to join the United Nations Global compact, thus becoming an active member of this international organization. The UN Global Compact is the world's largest corporate initiative on sustainability, grouping together more than 8,000 companies and 4,000 non-business organizations from 170 different countries.

The UN Global Compact believes it’s possible to create a sustainable and inclusive global economy that delivers lasting benefits to people, communities and market. By encouraging companies to align their strategies and operations in accordance with human rights, labour, environmental and anti-corruption principles, and by taking actions to advance the addherence to the Sustainable Development Goals, the UN Global Compact seeks to contribute to the creation of a more socially equal and ecologically balanced world.

As a participant in this important network, Green now has the possibility of joining special talks and meetings as well as being elected for prizes and awards. Let's make the world Greener :)
