Funk Caye

So our lifestyle is a little unpredictable, but not in our craziest moments have we ever considered buying an island. But, it is amazing what a really good gelato ice-cream can do to your sanity. There we were enjoying our gelato standing in front of a number of real estate poster boards, idly surveying property ideas for staying in Belize, when this 'for sale' ad just leapt out at us, saying "Buy me. Funk Caye, an island we have sailed past and loved because of the amazing water colours surrounding it, was there, for sale, at a price we could afford. Three days later we had signed the contract, with absolutely no idea what to do with the island other than anchor there and enjoy its isolation, wonderful colours and surrounding reefs. But, we like a challenge. So watch this space as the story of our development of Funk Caye unfolds.
