Here are a couple of reasons why Aurora might be a great buy. Firstly, the real estate market is down a lot here - as much as 30% from the 2016 high. Secondly and more importantly, GO Transit has appropriated land from Barrie to Toronto in order to lay down a second parallel rail line. Once build (7 or 8 years out), trains will run in both directions 24/7. Even better, while not announced (we'll have to wait until the opening of the second line), in all probably there will be express trains running to/from Aurora during peak morning and evening rush hours. Aurora has the largest parking facility in the region so is a logical hub. An express train from Aurora would get you into Union Station in approximately 25 minutes. Think about that for a moment. That's faster to Union than from most parts of inner city Toronto. Pricing will adjust massively once that happens. 7 or 8 years is a long time but it's a nice place to be while you wait.
