Hi there! If you are giving consideration to a move---maybe to a smaller community instead of a city.....check out the town of Barrhead!! It has history while living in the present.
Friendly small town with lots of activities no matter your age! Active Srs' groups (Barrhead has hosted the 55+ Srs' games).
If you're a hunter needing to brush up on your skills, the Gun Club is about a 10 minute drive from town....skeet shooting too; memberships available. Thunder Lake Provincial Park is located out here also---campground, boating, beach & playground. Boat launch is nearby.
For family activities there is lots to choose from. The Agrena for hockey---there's a walking track here too. Curling rink, ball diamonds, swimming pool--with a "lazy river", bowling alley, museum are all near each other in town. Dog park too!
There are dance groups, judo, baseball, soccer, to name a few.
Barrhead is an agricultural area--farmland-a-plenty. There are different types of sales that take place, and rodeos to enjoy.

Barrhead has the amenities for life needs too---grocery stores, gas stations, clothing stores, schools, library, hospital and eateries. It's only an hour or so to larger centers like St Albert and Edmonton. We also have a dedicated fire department!
