Happy Father’s Day.
Today, I want to speak from a different perspective—one that doesn’t often get acknowledged.
To the single moms who have been both mom and dad—who’ve carried the emotional weight, the financial strain, the discipline, the sleepless nights, the tough talks, the car rides, the scraped knees, and the school meetings—this day is for you too!
I was lucky. I had a great dad—the kind who showed up every single day, without fail. We had the station wagon, five kids, and that Leave It to Beaver kind of life. It wasn’t perfect, but it was full of love, laughter, and security. My dad set the standard for what a father should be.
When life handed me the role of being a single mom, I didn’t just take on motherhood, I became the dad. I became the provider.
The protector. The safe place.
The one who never left.
And out of everything I’ve done in my life—
that will always be my greatest achievement.
And the one I’m most proud of.
Not because it was easy, but because they deserved nothing less.
Being a father is about showing up, not just showing up once. It’s about consistency, protection, commitment, and love. Not biology.
It’s about being present—in the moments that matter and the quiet ones in between.
And to the men who enter a child’s life through relationships and say “I’ll Always be there”, let me tell you, those words carry weight. When you disappear it doesn’t just break trust-it Breaks Hearts!! Kids remember who showed up and who didn’t and that stays with them forever.
So on this Father’s Day, I celebrate the real dads—the ones by blood, by choice, or by circumstance—who never make their love conditional. The ones who lead with Love and Show up. I honour my own father who set the standard. And I stand with every mother who’s done both roles—quietly, fiercely, and without recognition.
Your strength is seen. Your love is felt. You are more than enough. You are not alone. Xo
P.s. To any man who hurts my daughter—consider this your warning: I will always show up. Loudly, fiercely, and without hesitation.. and just know one thing..I will be coming for you!
