It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Howard Mattila, who passed away on December 25, 2024 surrounded by family. Originally from the Rose Valley, SK area, Howard attended the University of Saskatchewan School of Agriculture before earning a masters in Agricultural Economics at the University of Guelph where he met his future wife Mary. After marrying in Kingston, Ontario in 1964 they settled in North Battleford. Howard started work in the appraisal industry in 1971 having trained and mentored a number of appraisers who are still practicing today. Howard dedicated time volunteering for various organizations including: St. Pauls Anglican Church, Battlefords Agricultural Society, Hope view Recovery Centre and the Boy Scouts. Howard was a compassionate and intelligent mentor and leader who will be dearly missed by all who were lucky enough to know him. A Celebration of life Service will be held at a later date. Date and times will be announced when made available. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Eternal Memories Funeral Service & Crematorium, Trevor Watts Funeral Director.
