A sure way to prevent several tons of ashpalt shingles routinely ending up in the landfills. Metal roofs can be a great solution to last not only your lifetime but often the next generation also...but they are not all the same, nor are they installed the same.

Exterior sump pit/pump are great. This one is cleverly hidden under a deck. Why do we drain our ground water into a home just to pump it back out.? An exterior sump buys some time in case of pump failure or power outage, it helps remove odours and humidity in a basement and more importantly helps by removing one of the sources of radon. Retro fitting an exterior sump to a home is not always an easy task. It is much easier to do when planning new construction.

I probably find foundation cracks in %95 of the houses I inspect and often there is more then one. Some require repair, and some don’t. Sometimes they require different types of repairs. Often, they are just shrinkage/drying cracks but sometimes they can be an indication of a more significant structural problem.
