There are times when it’s best to cut your losses rather than try to work it out… And it’s definitely something to think about if you’re not 100% happy with your real estate agent.
And even though no one wants to be THAT buyer or seller, you have to put your needs first, especially when it comes to a huge decision like real estate.
So keep an eye out for the following red flags:
1. Poor communication. If your agent doesn’t get back to your questions in a timely manner or never returns your calls, that’s a huge red flag. Real estate depends on clear communication, so make sure your agent keeps communication a priority!
2. Unfamiliar with your market. Real estate agents use their knowledge of the local market to help you make good decisions. And if your real estate agent doesn’t know the market then… you better work with someone else or you could end up making poor choices that affect you for years to come.
3. Terrible photos and videos. Sellers, this is a big one! Photos and videos of your house are the first things potential buyers see–and they make split-second decisions about whether they’re interested in the house based on those photos. If your agent isn’t taking good photos of your property, they’re doing you a major disservice that can impact your bottom line.
4. Not keeping promises on marketing your house. Even in our hot real estate market, homes still need to be marketed to buyers. If your agent just posted your listing on the MLS and said “buyers will come,” you need to kick them to the curb!
If your agent is doing any of these things, it’s probably time to jump ship before they make any more mistakes and end up costing you big time.
And maybe this has helped you realize that you need a better agent! In that case, feel free to send over a DM and we can set up a time to chat about your real estate goals and how we can meet them.
