I love Winter..I feel the key to enjoying Northern Ontario is finding the love of each season.

Why I love French River winters:

* Peace and a quiet that can’t be explained
* Snow-covered forests and rock

Owning a vacation rental is equal parts hospitality… and creative problem-solving. 😄

When our new A/C decided to stop working in the middle of our busiest season, there wasn’t much point in dwelling on it.

Plan B: Buy temporary A/C units, get them installed, and keep our guests comfortable while the part comes in.

Not exactly how I planned to spend the weekend, but that’s part of hosting. The best hosts aren’t the ones who never have problems—they’re the ones who find solutions before those problems define a guest’s stay.

Hopefully this is the last you’ll see of portable
A/C units around here. We’d much rather get back to sharing sunsets, campfires, and life at the A.

Until then… we adapt, we improve, and we keep our guests cool. ❄️

Because vacations are better when every member of the family gets to come along. 🤍

At The A, your four-legged best friend is welcome too.

A few pet rules to keep tails wagging:
• 2 plus years old
• Maximum 2 dogs
• Please keep pets off beds and furniture or bring your own water proof bedding
• Pick up after your pup (bags provided!)
• Dogs should not be left unattended in the cabin unless crated
• Keep pups leashed outdoors and respectful of wildlife and neighbours
• Please disclose pets when booking
• pet fee applies

Fun Fact: this is our new puppy and dog friendly cabin ambassador, Keelee. Although Keelee does not meet the two year old criteria she’s allowed to visit from time to time in between guests.

It’s been just over 2 months since we leveled up our soak experience and I LOVE this new tub.

There’s a peacefulness after a summer rain that can only be felt. Yesterday was a true summer day, no wind, full sun but then a summer rain rolled in. It only lasted 15 minutes then the skies were filled with sun once again but left a new calming presence.

These are the moments that remind us to slow down and cherish this time.
