I grew up near Connecticut, so I’ve always had a soft spot for that classic New England style. That’s why I love comparing it to what we see here in Ontario — it really shows how different homes and lifestyles can be depending on where you live.

Two homes. Two countries. Two very different vibes.

Up top- New Tecumseth, Ontario — newer build, practical layout, family-focused neighbourhoods, and some homes that are usually less than 20 years old. Easy, modern living.

On the bottom: Norwalk, Connecticut — the style I grew up around. A lot of the homes there go back to the 18th and 19th century, built with a level of character and craftsmanship you just don’t see in newer subdivisions. Colonial architecture, stone walls, big trees… it’s a whole different feel.

So why am I comparing them?
Because it’s a perfect example of how much history, location, and lifestyle shape a home — and how different “home” can look depending on where you are.

And of course, Norwalk is minutes from the Atlantic Ocean — beaches, marinas, that coastal air. Totally different from our inland Ontario lifestyle.

Just to be clear — I’m not selling the Connecticut home.
This is simply a fun comparison of two places and two completely different ways of living.

Real estate isn’t one-size-fits-all. It’s about what feels right for you — the style, the setting, the lifestyle.

So which one pulls you in?
Modern suburban comfort… or timeless coastal charm? 🌊🏡
