A little photo dump from our trip back home to Connecticut & NYC. ❤️

We celebrated my grandma’s 89th birthday with family, spent the day at Stew Leonard’s (still the best grocery store on the East Coast 😄), visited the Maritime Aquarium, played mini putt by Calf Pasture Beach, explored Stepping Stones Children’s Museum and made our way into NYC to see the Statue of Liberty.

As much as I love making new memories with my boys, my favourite part is getting to share a little piece of the childhood I had growing up in Connecticut. Watching them experience the places, traditions and little things that meant so much to me growing up is something I’ll always be grateful for.

🌾 Showing country properties is about so much more than the house.

I had the opportunity to show a beautiful rural property and it was a great reminder that buying in the country requires a different level of due diligence.

When helping clients explore rural properties, we’re looking beyond the home itself:

✔️ What crops are planted nearby and when harvest season takes place.
✔️ Future development that could impact the area.
✔️ Zoning, permitted uses and land designations.
✔️ Well water and septic systems.
✔️ Property boundaries, fencing and access.
✔️ Outbuildings and their condition.
✔️ Road maintenance, utilities and internet availability.

A country property is a lifestyle purchase. My job is to help my clients understand not only the home they’re buying, but also the land, the surrounding area and what living there will really be like.

That’s one of the things I love most about helping clients buy rural properties. 🌳🚜

🏡 What a great day at the open house!

I had the chance to meet so many wonderful people today, from first-time buyers to local families and people hoping to move back into the neighbourhood. Thank you to everyone who stopped by! It was such a fun afternoon, and all of the feedback on the home was incredibly positive.

Before today’s Open House, I stopped by Queensmere Farms Farms for the first time, and I’m so glad I did!

If you’re local (or just driving through), this is definitely a spot worth checking out.

Feeling especially grateful this week.

I was born in the United States, but Canada has been home for most of my life. I’m incredibly thankful to have roots in both countries and to celebrate two amazing nations that have shaped who I am today.
