Lakes are on their way out, Easter Weekend say Fairy Lake and Peninsula ice move out. The rest won't be far behind. Approx 3 weeks early this year as Fairy went out around May 2-3rd last year. There is some snow but mostly where the sun doesn't go.

Friday 13th very windy day, back roads are full of mud, grocery stores are full of panic buyers I hear even in North Bay the flood gates opened and little toilet paper to go around as 9 skids ordered 1 received !! Trying times for us. Real Estate still seems to be in great demand and this spring is looking like 2017 as to how long on the market. We are not attending the cottage life show this year as of today. Not the responsible thing to do and I'm sure there won't be many there if still going on. Wait and See, hang on to your hats !!

We had a super July/August this year and now as we head to Fall it's looking like a good year for colour, currently 60% in the area and the trees are laden with nuts so should see less deer and bears around the towns.

One of my top 10 Lakes in Gods Country

It's time to go big or go home at Kawagama Lake. One of the largest lakes in the region, Kawagama has so much to offer no matter what you are looking for. The lake is only 10 minutes to the village of Dorset where you can pick up all the essentials for your cottage vacation.

If you like taking your boat out on the lake, you will love the choice of two marinas on Kawagama. Mountain Trout Marina and Old Mill Marina are both located on the west side of the lake. Storage and repair services are available to keep your boat in its prime. Once you are all gassed up and ready to go feel free to explore over 31 km of lake water.

What could be more tempting than beautifully clear water on a hot summer day? Kawagama Lake has an excellent water clarity rating of 7.9 metres. Feel the rush of jumping into the lake off the dock. Spend the day swimming around or hang out on a floating island.

The fun doesn’t stop once you are off the water. Take a trip into Dorset and go up to the famous Lookout Tower where you can see a 360 degree view of the gorgeous landscape. Then head over to Robinson’s General Store which was voted Canada’s Best Country Store. The Dorset Heritage Museum is another great attraction to check out, especially on a stormy summer day.
