Dear Friends,

Tonight we have some exciting news, open houses has resumed in some regions! As the new framework for the Public Health Unit Region Classifications has been put in place by Premier Doug Ford on the Province of Ontario it is important to remember to continue to do your due diligence to ensure the safety of yourself and those around you. As the days go by we are learning more about what the framework means to each individual region in Ontario.
From tomorrow, Saturday November 7th 2020, open houses are now permitted in Toronto, York and Ottawa. Peel region has been placed under the Red Classification which means that currently open houses in Peel are still restricted. There are many advisement however, by the Canadian and Ontario Real estate Associations (CREA and OREA respectively) to continue to have virtual open houses at this time to protect the safety of realtors and homeowners alike.
We continue to provide updates as we have them. If you have more questions about the new Public Health Unit Region Classifications please don't hesitate to contact me.

Take care and stay safe!

Service and Information Update
Parking, parks and playgrounds:

City reminds residents of by-laws during COVID-19
Thursday, May 14 2020
BRAMPTON, ON (May 14, 2020) –

The City of Brampton reminds residents of the importance of following by-laws during the COVID-19 pandemic and year-round. By-laws are in place to help maintain a safe and clean city, and every Bramptonian has a role to play upholding these standards.

Individuals not adhering to regulations can be fined a minimum of $500 and maximum of up to $100,000 for each offence under theBrampton COVID-19 Emergency Measures By-law, or fined under the provincial Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act (EMCPA). They may also be fined under other relevant City by-laws should they not adhere to them.

Parking vehicles safely
The City’s Traffic By-Law 93-93 states that no vehicle may be parked on any portion of a sidewalk in a way that would obstruct it. Doing so poses a danger to those using sidewalks and impedes strollers, wheelchairs and pedestrians. Under the by-law, vehicles are also not permitted to park in a way that obstructs traffic. No parked vehicle may overhang onto a roadway.

If necessary, residents may consider parking a vehicle parallel to the curb on the paved portion of the boulevard. When parked this way, vehicles cannot encroach the road or sidewalk.

At this time, as all City-owned parking lots are closed to the public until further notice, the City has temporarily suspended enforcement of on-street parking with the exceptions of health, safety and emergency services related matters such as: blocked driveways and fire hydrants, blocked sidewalks, road obstructions, fire routes and ensuring emergency vehicles have passage.

Use of parks and trails
While City parks remain closed, residents are permitted to walk through parks on pathways and use trails. It is still prohibited to use outdoor recreational facilities including:

playgrounds and other structures in parks;
picnic sites, benches or shelters;
outdoor sports facilities and outdoor fitness equipment, including sports fields, basketball and tennis courts;
recreation centres and surrounding lands; and
parking lots.
Residents are also reminded dogs are not permitted to go off-leash in any City park, and leash-free dog parks remain closed at this time.

Physical distancing
As residents get outside on sidewalks, trails, paths or other public spaces, they must maintain 2.0 metres distance from others (who don’t live in their home) at all times. Gatherings of more than five are also prohibited under the EMCPA.

To report gatherings of more than five people, residents are asked to call 311.
