Toronto home sales just posted their biggest jump in 9 months.

According to TRREB, 5,946 homes sold across the GTA in April 2026 - up 7% compared to April 2025.
Reuters reported this was the largest gain in GTA home sales in nine months, while prices showed signs of stabilizing.
At the same time, listings moved in the opposite direction.
TRREB reported 17,097 new listings in April - down 9.3% year-over-year.
Active listings also fell to 25,110 - down 6.4% compared to last year.

But prices are still lower than they were a year ago.
The average GTA selling price was $1,051,969 in April - down 4.9% year-over-year. The MLS Home Price Index Composite benchmark was also down 6.6%. So what does this mean?
• More buyers may be stepping back into the market as prices soften, but affordability is still fragile.
• Sales are rising, listings are falling, and prices are starting to stabilize month-over-month. That does not mean Toronto is suddenly back in a boom - but it could signal the market is moving into a more cautious stabilization phase.

8 things sellers are PRAYING you don’t notice during a showing…
…and if you miss them, it could cost you THOUSANDS after closing. 👀

Most buyers focus on the kitchen, staging, and “vibes” of the house…but smart buyers know the REAL problems are usually hiding in plain sight.

Of course, not every seller is hiding issues, many homes are exceptionally well maintained. However, buyers should still know what to look for during a showing so they can make informed decisions. Here’s what to watch for when touring homes in Houston 👇

➊ Fresh paint in random areas
One freshly painted wall or ceiling patch could be hiding leaks, water damage, or mold stains. If something looks patched, ASK why.

➋ A freezing cold house
Sellers often blast the AC before showings. Pay attention to uneven temperatures, weak airflow, or rooms that still feel warm.

➌ Cracks around doors, windows, or tile
Houston soil shifts constantly. Small cracks can be normal — but sticking doors, sloping floors, and widening cracks are red flags.

➍ Overpowering candles or fragrances 🚩
Too many scents can sometimes be masking odors from smoke, pets, mildew, or moisture issues. Trust your instincts.

➎ Brand-new flooring in only ONE area
