Some of the best moments in real estate come from people I’ve met along the way.

An agent from the GTA reached out to me about a listing in Brant County. We hadn’t talked in a long time, but he trusted me to help with the buyers who were showing interest.

One of those buyers turned out to be a great match. I worked with a kind couple who said they liked how honest and easy to talk to our whole team was.

We helped them buy the property, and now they’re turning it into their dream home for their retirement.

This reminded me how important relationships are.

You never know when someone you met years ago will reach out again.

Realtor-to-realtor referrals mean a lot to me, and I’m always thankful for them.

There’s a lot of noise out there saying young people will “never” be able to buy a home.

And yes, the market is challenging. Prices are high, competition is intense, and the process can feel overwhelming.

But I’ve spent the past several years working with two young couples whose stories tell a different side of the truth.

We started this journey before Covid, and nothing about it was simple. Their pre-approvals took time, the market shifted faster than anyone expected, and we faced more than a few disappointments along the way.

We stepped back when things got too hectic, regrouped when the timing felt right, and kept moving forward. It wasn’t a straight line—far from it—but both couples stayed committed.

This year, all that patience paid off, and they each purchased a home of their own.
These aren’t their forever homes yet, but they’re solid starts.

One couple has already created a cozy living space and is planning a garden for next spring.

The other is enjoying a quieter neighbourhood and a mortgage payment that’s finally lower than their old rent.

People talk a lot about balance. But the truth is… balance doesn’t really exist — not in the perfect, equal way we imagine.

As a realtor and entrepreneur, my life runs in seasons. Some days I’m fully in work mode, pouring everything into my clients and their dreams. Other days, I shut it all down to be home — present, grounded, just mom or vovó (grandma).

It’s taken me years to understand that balance isn’t about dividing your time evenly. It’s about knowing what matters most, and having the courage to choose it — even when it’s hard.

My clients mean the world to me, but my family is my reason why. They remind me what success really looks like — not the hours, not the deals, but the life I’m building around them.

So no, I don’t have it all figured out. But every day, I try to show up — with heart, with purpose, and with love for both the work I do and the people I do it for. 💫

✨ Mary Poppins has always been one of my all-time favourite movies.
�Over the years, I’ve collected it all — a plush doll, magazine covers, Pops, and even Christmas ornaments.

It’s my go-to movie when I need to lift my spirits (and I’ve watched it more times than I can count!).
�Now Henry and I watch it together, and I sing the lullaby to all my grandkids — just like Mary would. 💕

I’m a huge Julie Andrews fan too — I’ve read her biographies cover to cover.

✈️ I love exploring Europe — but the journey to get there is another story.

The food, the history, the architecture… it all fills my soul. There’s something about wandering old cobblestone streets that feels like coming home. But that long flight? Not quite as romantic. 😅

The hum of the plane, the motion, the hours of sitting still — it’s a challenge every time. Over the years, I’ve learned how to manage it: Gravol, a good drink, a downloaded movie or two, and a few distractions to pass the time.

I’ve never been a fan of scary movies.

Honestly, I can count on one hand how many I’ve actually seen.

It all started when I was a kid — the youngest of six — watching things I definitely shouldn’t have been watching. And the one that scarred me for life? The Exorcist.

Even as a little girl, that movie chilled me to my core. I’m sure I had nightmares for weeks.

Fast forward to my adult years — Gerry and I went on a date to see the latest Exorcist movie (this was back in the late 80s). I thought, I’m grown up now, I can handle it.
Nope. Not even close. I lasted maybe 10 minutes before turning to Gerry and saying, “I can’t do this,” and walking right out of the theatre. 😂

That was it for me. Never again. Some people love the thrill… me?

I’ll stick to my cozy comedies and feel-good flicks, thank you very much!
