One year ago today we closed on our house on Nova Scotia's South Shore. 🏡🌊

13 months ago we were standing on the other side of the country, boxes packed, hearts full, and just enough nerve to do something most people thought was a little bit crazy.

We hauled ourselves — and our whole life — from one ocean to the other. And that house? It's not just a house anymore. It's home. Completely, fully, without a single doubt — home.

A year in and I can tell you: the South Shore is everything we hoped it would be and more. The community, the coastline, the pace, the people. The mornings on the porch. The peepers in spring. The northern lights through the trees. The fact that my daughter is growing up in a place like this.

No looking back. Not for a single second.

Waiting day. The longest kind of day. ⏰

My buyers spent the day exploring and trying not to panic. I spent the morning resetting the house and refreshing my inbox approximately one thousand times.

Here's the thing about waiting for an offer response — panic is part of the process. It's actually several steps in the process. Completely normal, completely valid, and absolutely no fun whatsoever. 😄

And then — the notification came.

Offer accepted. We move into the conditional period. 🥂

I won't pretend this one is just another file. These buyers are from the same small town in BC that my own family moved from. We know them from the community. Fellow café people — retired now, and ready for their next chapter on Nova Scotia's South Shore.

There's something incredibly full-circle about helping people from home find a new home. I'm rooting for them with everything I've got.

Fingers crossed, fingers crossed, fingers crossed. 🤞

And tomorrow? We keep touring. Liverpool and Shelburne are still on the itinerary — because when you're buying from a country away, you stay ready until the keys are in hand.

Offer written. Fingers crossed. 🤞

After two days of viewings across the South Shore, my out-of-province buyers have found something worth going for — and tonight we put it on paper.

But here's the thing about buying from a distance — you don't put all your eggs in one basket. A conditional period is exactly that: conditional. Things can fall through, and when you're a country away, you can't just hop back on a plane next week.

So tomorrow? We keep going. Liverpool and Shelburne are on the itinerary, and we'll keep exploring until we know for certain that the right door has opened and stayed open.

This is what looking after out-of-province buyers actually looks like. Not just booking showings — but thinking three steps ahead so my clients are never left without options.
