Additionally check out Health Canada - Radon and the Alberta Lung association. Radon is the leading cause of lung cancer in non-smokers in Canada and kills approximately 3200 Canadians every year. Health Canada would like to see every home tested by a C-NRPP professional.

What is a property maintenance inspection?

This inspection is essentially the same as a home inspection. The difference is that in the summary, you will see a list of recommended repairs as well as any deficiencies that presently exist at your property not just the problems we would call out in a regular home inspection. This gives you the opportunity to simply scan the summary page to identify the repairs that are needed to help you maintain your property so that you can always get the highest rental income and re-sale value possible for your property.

Why should I do this?

Apart from potentially higher rental income and re-sale value, an annual inspection and recommended repairs will help prevent large unexpected repair bills by identifying small, low-cost problems before they become large expensive problems, which will again increase profits.

With a pre-listing inspection you can find out what your buyers inspector will find and have it fixed BEFORE you list/sell, then we will come back to see the repair was done and remove it from the report, or add the repairs to the report (whichever you prefer). I am now taking orders for long term Radon testing (the recommended test by Health Canada) for end of September deployment. Radon is the leading cause of lung cancer in non-smokers. Radon is found everywhere, and can be found in much higher concentrations in your home. The only way to know if you have high Radon concentrations is to have your home tested. This long term dosimeter will be in your home from September to March in order to get an accurate average of the concentrations in your home. It is very small and unobtrusive, and does not affect your lifestyle in any way while it is deployed. I am a certified Radon tester, and therefore you can be assured of accurate results, and deployment. Cost is $200.00 + GST.
