Sometimes the loveliest feedback is found right here in our guest book. ❤️

Emily came to the Burin Peninsula for work this week, but still found time for tea on the deck, a good book, a little thrift-store treasure hunting — and some time to simply enjoy the view.

We especially loved her note that staying at Jandon made being away from her family feel “a little less sad.” 🥹

Sometimes Newfoundland weather becomes part of the adventure. 🌧️❤️

Barbara and Val travelled all the way from Squamish, BC, and found themselves tucked into Jandon Cottage during quite the storm! Thankfully, they stayed cozy inside and were rewarded with some spectacular coastal views once the weather allowed them to get out and explore.

We especially love that they appreciated the history and charm of our little 1924 cottage — and enjoyed the Grand Bank Mariners Museum, too!

Erin and Leon came all the way from Ontario to spend some time with family, enjoy the Burin Peninsula, and apparently have a few peaceful cups of tea on the deck watching the water. 😊

Behind the Destination: Smugglers Cove 🏴‍☠️

Destination St. John’s is proud to shine a light on the incredible partners we value so deeply. It is all of us working together that makes our destination truly special.

Today we are highlighting Smugglers Cove Burin, a spot with notorious history and a whole lot of personality. At the heart of it all is Tom's Roadhouse, where premium Newfoundland ingredients meet live music and drinks. Once dinner's done, the adventure continues at Frontier Town. Guests can take on a challenge in one of the Escape Rooms, test their aim in the Axe Throwing cage, step into the Virtual Reality Arcade, or enjoy a relaxed paddle by kayak or peddle boat in the pond. Plus, Glamping Pods and Loft Bunkies are available for those that want to stay a while.

Smugglers Cove Burin leans fully into its rebellious roots, and gives guests plenty of reasons to stay a while and see all that the Burin Peninsula has to offer.
