The biggest life hack isn’t money, fitness, or productivity. It’s marrying the right person.

Everyone talks about choosing the right career.

Almost nobody talks about choosing the right partner.

And I’ll tell you right now, who I married has had a bigger impact on my happiness than any business decision I’ve ever made.

This woman has put up with my bu****it.

👉🏻My bad decisions.
👉🏻Money problems.
👉🏻The “this business idea is definitely going to work” phase.
👉🏻The highs.
👉🏻The absolute lowest of the lows.

She’s seen me stressed, broke, stubborn, exhausted, obsessed, frustrated, and chasing things that probably made no sense at the time.

And somehow, she stayed.

People think success is about ambition, discipline, or strategy.

But a lot of success is having someone beside you who doesn’t leave when life gets ugly.

The wrong partner will drain you.

The right partner will steady you while you figure life out.

That choice matters more than most people realize.

The drama. The outrage. The audacity…

All because we did THIS!!!

I love social media. But wow, does it bring out the worst in people sometimes.

Last year, I stumbled into a Facebook group where someone was taking a jab at something my team did. No big deal, right? Except it turned into a full-blown meltdown. A digital mob of keyboard warriors frothing at the mouth over... what exactly?

Here’s the crime: We sent letters. That’s it.

Our buyers, real people, by the way, were desperate. They’d fallen in love with houses, lost out, and were getting crushed by the market.

So, we did what we always do: we got to work. We sent letters to homeowners in Burlington, asking a simple question: Are you thinking about selling? Because if they were, we had buyers ready to go.

And this? THIS was the thing that sent people into a rage spiral.
The comments were wild. Theories. Conspiracies. People offended that we had the audacity to... help our clients find a house? I swear, if we’d cured cancer, some people would still complain.

But here’s the best part. I had fun. I jumped into the comments, laughed, educated, and, most importantly, didn’t care.

Because at the end of the day? Our clients got what they needed. And that’s the only thing that matters.

So, if you live in Burlington, keep an eye on your mailbox. You just might get a letter from us.

And if that offends you... well, I really don’t know what to tell you
Would you be annoyed if you received one of my flyers?

The market didn’t slow down, it changed who it rewards.

👉🏻 Buyers see opportunity, but only if they move fast.
👉🏻 Sellers see stability, but often not at the price they expect.
👉🏻 The market shows activity, but it’s becoming more selective underneath it all.

Same data. Different outcomes.

What matters isn’t the market you think you’re in, it’s where you sit inside it. 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻

Her feet are bruised, and that’s what real dedication looks like at 13 🩷.

Competitive dance isn’t glitter and smiles.

It’s bruised feet, sore joints, and showing up anyway the next morning like nothing happened.

My daughter reminded me what most adults forget, pain isn’t a stop sign, it’s just part of the price.

And most of us quit way too early.

Most buyers don’t lack knowledge. They lack the right source ℹ️.

It’s not that people don’t know what to do. It’s that they don’t know which voice to trust.

Google. Friends. Neighbours. Agents. Family.

So instead of clarity, they get paralysis. And paralysis feels like waiting for the right time.

In Burlington, buyers rarely stall from lack of information. They stall from too much of it, none of it aligned.

In pockets like Millcroft, The Orchard, and Alton Village, the decisions feel bigger, so even casual opinions start to sound like warnings.

👉🏻 Wait for rates to drop, but that advice is always behind the market.
👉🏻 You’ll know when it’s right, but clarity usually comes after action, not before it.
👉🏻 Friends and family mean well, but they’re speaking from a different market reality.
👉🏻 Even professionals differ, because they’re not looking at your exact market, price point, property type, furture goals.

So the issue isn’t information. It’s noise.

What matters is having one clear, local, accountable source, not ten opinions.

Then everything else becomes background.

Because in real estate, clarity doesn’t come from more input. It comes from knowing which voice counts, and ignoring the rest.

Most people think they’re doing the right thing, and it’s quietly costing them tens of thousands.

Not because they’re careless. Because they’re following advice that sounds smart, but isn’t.

I’ve watched it happen more times than I can count. Good people. Smart decisions. Wrong timing.

And by the time they realize it? It’s already too late.

If you’re buying or selling in this market, you need to hear this before you make your next move👇🏻.

04/29/2026

The biggest mistake homeowners make isn’t timing the market. It’s this mindset.

Most people don’t avoid selling because of the market. They avoid it because they’re afraid of being wrong.

👉🏻 Wrong about timing.
👉🏻 Wrong about price.
👉🏻 Wrong about what comes next.

And underneath that, it’s usually not just financial. It’s fear of regret.

👉🏻 What if we list too early?
👉🏻 What if we wait too long?
👉🏻 What if we move and realize life felt better before?

So they do the safest thing possible… nothing.

But “nothing” is still a decision. Just one that removes control over time.

And in higher-end homes, hesitation rarely comes from logic. It comes from identity. Because selling isn’t just moving.

It’s quietly asking: “Who am I if I’m not here anymore?”

And if this feels familiar, it’s because it is.

Most homeowners don’t get stuck on strategy. They get stuck in this exact space between knowing they could move… and not wanting to get it wrong.

Most people don’t see it clearly until they read something like this.

🛑 Stop upgrading your kitchen before you list… if your mudroom is a mess.

I see this all the time with sellers. They rush to update countertops, backsplashes, lighting, thinking that’s what buyers care about most.

Meanwhile… the second you walk in the door? Chaos.

Let me paint you a picture buyers won’t say out loud:

👎🏻Rainy day showing.
👎🏻Kids’ shoes piled up.
👎🏻No real place for coats, bags, or anything.

It feels tight. Messy. Unfinished.

And just like that… your “updated” home doesn’t feel functional.

Buyers aren’t just buying your finishes. They’re buying how the home handles real life.

And if there’s no clear drop zone? No storage? No system?

They feel it immediately.

You don’t need a full renovation.

But before you spend money on a kitchen upgrade… ask yourself:

👉🏻 Where does everyday life land in this house?

Because a clean, simple, well-organized mudroom (or even just a defined space) can do more for your sale than another slab of quartz.

The kitchen might get the photos…

But the mudroom? That’s what makes the home feel like it actually works.

Most people think buying a house is just ‘find it and move in.’

Cute.

It’s not like that at all.

Buying a home is a full-contact sport. Deals fall apart, inspections uncover surprises, and paperwork? It feels endless.

I’ve seen buyers freak out when the basement suddenly leaks during the negotiation, or when asbestos is discovered in the attic.

Families stress out when timelines shift, and emotions run high when life throws a curveball mid-sale.

If you’re buying with kids, pets, or just a busy life, it’s messy. You have to roll with it, stay calm, and keep your sense of humor.

Focus on what you can control, being prepared, asking the right questions, and understanding the process. That’s how you survive the chaos and end up in the house you want.

So here’s my question for you: are you really prepared to handle the unexpected, or are you hoping it won’t happen?
