What a fantastic turnout for Wednesday’s Burlington Mayoral Candidates Seniors Forum! 👏

With a sold-out crowd of approximately 200 Burlington seniors, the afternoon was filled with thoughtful questions, important conversations, and meaningful discussion about the future of our city.

A sincere thank you to the four mayoral candidates who participated: Lisa Kearns, Marianne Meed Ward, Rory Nisan, and Yugalkeesor Ramdhonee, for taking the time to engage directly with Burlington’s senior community.

Thank you as well to Lisa Bilodeau, who did a wonderful job moderating the discussion and keeping the conversation moving.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who attended! Your engagement, questions, and commitment to staying informed are exactly why events like this matter.

Seniors deserve to have their voices heard, and Wednesday was a wonderful example of our community coming together to make that happen. ❤️

On October 7, Burlington’s mayoral candidates will come together for a focused, moderated conversation on the issues that matter most to older adults in our community, including housing and affordability, transportation and community supports, public safety, property taxes, accessibility and quality of life.

This isn’t a traditional debate. Candidates will have the opportunity to respond to structured questions centred specifically around topics seniors have identified as important to them.

Sometimes we maintain, heat, clean and pay for extra space all year for a handful of visits.
A smaller home doesn’t necessarily mean giving up family time. A guest room, den with a Murphy bed, building guest suite or nearby accommodation can still make visits comfortable without designing your everyday home around the occasional weekend.

The goal isn’t less space for the sake of it.
