Vancouver Resales Edge Up
Vancouver’s real estate market is showing some interesting movement. Recent data reveals that resales climbed about 10% month-over-month, crossing the 2,000-home mark for the first time in nine months—a positive sign for anyone watching the local market. While prices continue to ease, the slowdown in price adjustments has become less pronounced. The home price index is down roughly 6% year-over-year, which points to softer conditions but stops short of anything more dramatic. Despite ongoing economic uncertainty, particularly around trade tensions impacting buyer confidence, the steady month-over-month increase in resales stands out. According to an economist’s perspective, this current slowdown is seen as a temporary detour rather than a major shift, suggesting that Vancouver’s real estate activity warrants close attention rather than worry. Looking ahead, the forecast calls for stabilization through 2026 into 2027, with the city’s market recovery expected to be uneven. Having marketed properties across Greater Vancouver—including Burnaby, Coquitlam, and Port Coquitlam—I’m keeping a close watch on these shifts to help clients navigate their next move with clarity.
